About this release

Brewery de Natte Gijt no longer exists. This recipe does. For eleven years, the Gijt was one of the most independent breweries in Limburg. Rudy and Marc Nordhausen started in 2011 in a shed in Weert and subsequently brewed their way through smoke, sourness, wood and hops, always pushing the boundaries. In 2022 it was "Up with the Gijt" and the curtain fell. Play Suspended is one of the recipes Rudy left behind. This blonde beer of 7.0% was brewed at the Brouwschuur in Weert and won a silver Untappd Community Award that same year. These are beers from batch #2. A full body, clear character and no caution whatsoever. Exactly what you expect from a recipe from the Gijt kitchen, and exactly what you don't expect from a beer that was originally brewed for the seventieth anniversary of tennis club TC Weert. Hence the name: play suspended, the term for a suspended match. This is more than just beer. It is a piece of Limburgian brewing history that lives on.
