To honor their 9000th brew, Fremont Brewing presents this English-style barleywine, brewed with floor-malted barley and Noble hops and aged for 16 months in bourbon barrels between 10 and 15 years old. A complex and subtle beer full of character. Fremont Brewing from Seattle is known for their excellent barrel-aged beers and their strong focus on sustainability and community. With Brew 9000, they deliver another impressive work. The beer appears ruby brown with a light haze and unfolds rich aromas of molasses, toffee, brown sugar, cola, vanilla, whiskey and dried fruit, complemented by oak and biscuit. On the palate it is intensely sweet and full-bodied, with warming alcohol and subtle carbonation that balances the complex flavors. This is a layered beer for the true lover of boozy sweetness, in which the long aging in premium bourbon barrels is clearly expressed.
