In België zou de naam van de rivier 'Demer' afgeleid zijn van het Keltische 'Tamera' of 'Tamara', wat 'Zwarte Rivier' betekent. In het oude Groot-Brittannië was Tamara, afgebeeld op het etiket, ook de godin van rivieren en beken. Met geurige hop en speciale gist tovert ze het rivierwater om tot een heerlijke goud Belgische tripel.
