Built from the final fourteen barrels of April's Peach Brandy [Barrel] D.B.V.S.O.J., this version from Revolution Brewing out of Chicago is enriched with both fire-toasted French oak as well as unfermented peach and apricot. With an impressive alcohol content of 13.3 percent, this is a complex and full-bodied barrel-aged ale that lends itself excellently for contemplation. The nose displays layered stone fruit, with peach derived from both the barrel and the fruit, flanked by malty caramel and smoky vanilla from the slowly fire-toasted French wood. This is a beer that continuously unfolds in the glass, with each moment revealing new nuances.
