About this release

Eggens Vatgrijpt 013/2025 is a Grain Wine aged in old whisky barrels from Den Hool for approximately 308 days. The barrels were previously used for PX aging, which has resulted in a rich variety of flavors. The maltiness of the Grain Wine, brewed with barley, oats, wheat and rye, remains firmly present and is beautifully complemented by notes of whisky and Pedro Ximénez sherry. This powerful and complex barrel-aged beer with an alcohol content of 13.0% comes from the breweries of Eggens, a Dutch brewery from the province of Groningen. Eggens focuses on brewing characterful and flavorful beers, often with a local connection. Their passion for the brewing craft shines through in every beer they produce, and this Vatgrijpt is excellent proof of that. With a content of 330 milliliters, this bottle offers a full flavor experience. The long aging in whisky barrels and the combination of different grain varieties make this a beer for lovers of strong, complex flavors. Perfect for those who appreciate depth in their glass and are not afraid of full, smoky and fruity notes.
