We said: 'Hold on Willy, we've already got the solution: Freak Out!' This imperial stout from Brasserie Sir John Brewing Co. from Canadian Quebec aged no less than 24 months in Bluegrass bourbon barrels, followed by another 6 months in WhistlePig rye whiskey barrels. Decadent! The bourbon makes itself clearly felt, along with a subtle tartness. Dark chocolate notes evoke melting Nutella, while the finish almost conjures up s'mores with that typical graham cracker vibe. Round, barely alcohol-forward, syrupy and soft as liquid love. At 11.9 percent alcohol, this is a full, impressive imperial stout that lives up to the craft brewing of Sir John Brewing Co.
