About this release

In the American Midwest, two breweries form an 'Arcane Alliance' every year: Bearded Brewer and Lumen Beer Co. join forces for a special beer, and this year we were invited to join that alliance. The result is a blend of two imperial stouts, a collaboration with Brasserie Sir John Brewing Co. from Quebec, Canada, a brewery that specializes in craft beers with a focus on quality and local ingredients. The two imperial stouts matured for 26 months on Bluegrass bourbon barrels and 19 months on Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels respectively, then conditioned with Thai wild bananas, peanuts, cacao nibs and marshmallows. This impressive beer contains an alcohol content of 11.9 percent and is offered in a convenient 500ml bottle. It tastes like heaven, notes of cinnamon, raisin, plum and caramel, with cacao at the forefront that makes way for banana, only to dissolve into peanut flavor and the creamy richness of marshmallows. Round, decadent and utterly overwhelming in the best sense. This is a beer that's perfect for warming yourself by the campfire or for enjoying with friends this unique collaboration between three breweries.
