About this release

Friendship must be maintained, just like a garden in the heart of winter. Mid-March, we visited our good friends at Counterpart Brewing, bringing not only love but also a touch of darkness in our luggage. Good friends, great beer, beautiful stories — and yes, casinos too. The crew at Counterpart had wonderful barrels ready for us with a stout that aged for 24 months in Willett Distillery rye whiskey barrels, to which we added our own darkness: an imperial stout that aged for 27 months in St. Augustine bourbon barrels. The result is simply superior: molasses, pure chocolate, plums and figs. A long finish, round and patient, like a flower on the verge of blooming, with a sweet, enveloping warmth. Le Jardinier Des Ténèbres is a collaboration between Brasserie Sir John Brewing Co. from Lachute, Canada, and Counterpart Brewing, two breweries that understand each other when it comes to creating special, craft beers. This masterful barrel-aged imperial stout with an alcohol content of 11.9 percent is proof of their shared passion for quality and craftsmanship. With over two years of aging in premium bourbon and whiskey barrels, this beer has had all the time it needs to fully develop its complex character. Perfect for those who love intense, sophisticated flavors.
