About this release

The Belgian Quadrupel Kleveretien from Brouwerij Het Nest is almost black, but has little to nothing of a stout. The taste is predominantly spicy with a hint of licorice (star anise), caramel and dark fruit. At the finish, the wonderful alcohol warmth comes through. Whoever needs a warming beer on a cold winter's evening will certainly choose Kleveretien. Not strong enough yet? Be sure to try the variant aged in wooden barrels! This 10% ABV quadrupel from Oud-Turnhout is a fine example of Brouwerij Het Nest's expertise in the Belgian brewing tradition with a modern twist. The characteristic beer, named after one of the playing cards that inspire the brewery, offers a complex and warming experience. With its full body and subtle spices, this beer pairs excellently with winter evenings and is ideal for slow sipping at a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius. Brewery Het Nest from Turnhout, Belgium, was founded by a group of friends from a local card club. Their beers are often inspired by playing cards (such as 'KlevereTien' and 'SchuppenAas'). They brew beers in the Belgian tradition, but with their own, modern twist.
