An impressive Imperial Stout aged in First Fill Bourbon Whiskey barrels from Bardstown, Kentucky. After the Bourbon was drained, the barrels were filled with this imposing stout within a few weeks, which then had approximately 680 days to mature. The result is a profound beer in which the powerful character of the Imperial Stout is beautifully interwoven with the sweet, vanilla-like notes of the Bourbon. This bold project from Eggens Craftbeer is proof that patience is rewarded. With an alcohol content of 11.0 percent, this barrel aged stout delivers a full, complex taste experience. The long maturation in American whiskey barrels has given the beer a refined, characterful effect, with wood influences and Bourbon aromatic notes subtly working through the full, robust beer body. This is pure craftbrew ambition in a 330ml bottle. Only 1752 bottles were filled from this special batch (005/2025), making this beer a true collector's item.
