This beer comes from Brouwerij Kompel from Maasmechelen, a brewery from the mining region of Limburg that pays tribute to the region's mining past through its beers. The name Kompel refers to the miners who shaped this area in those days. L'Or Noir, named after the black gold of our mining history, is a fresh and smooth triple brewed with four different grain varieties and 50 percent Belgian hop varieties. With an alcohol content of 8.2 percent, this is a full, flavorful beer for those who appreciate a better balanced strong ale. The fresh and smooth characteristics make it a pleasant drinking choice, despite the higher alcohol content. Bottle fermentation provides extra protection and helps the beer develop a more complex character. In the glass, L'Or Noir appears in a beautiful golden yellow color with a strong and robust head.
