An impressive Peated Barrel Aged Imperial Stout from Menno Olivier Brewing, aged in Kilchoman whisky casks from Scottish Islay. This 330ml bottle contains a beer with 13.2% alcohol vol., in which the smoky, peaty complexity of Islay whisky perfectly merges with the deep, dark flavors of an Imperial Stout. The beer combines notes of smoked malt, dark chocolate, espresso, dried fruit and finishes with a warm whisky finish that lingers long on the palate. Menno Olivier Brewing is the Spanish brewing project of Menno Olivier, founder of Dutch brewery de Molen. From Súria in Spain, he brews craft beers applying his years of expertise and brewing style in a new environment. This Islay Alchemist is a perfect example of that craftsmanship, combining traditional whisky barrel aging with intense stout characteristics. This barrel-aged stout certainly deserves a place in the collection of lovers of complex, rich and smoky beer.
