A 10% pastry stout built like a runaway, boozy fruitcake: Black Flame raisins, Golden Medium Choice and Turkish sultanas were steeped in 200 liters of Spanish sherry, after which the entire sticky, fortified mixture went into the chewy rye stout. Expect dark fruit, vinous sweetness and jammy raisin depth, finished with Italian espresso-roast coffee beans for a bitter, roasty snap. This ambitious creation from Moersleutel Craft Brewery from Alkmaar once again shows why this brewery is known for their daring and dark beers with rich, complex flavors.
